Why I’m running for office

I’m doing this for us…

I am running to represent you in the House of Representatives because the experience I have gained over the years and my knowledge of our community will combine to make me an effective voice for you in Baton Rouge. I am also running because I believe political dynasties are detrimental to our state and our community. The District 82 seat has been held by my opponent’s brother for 12 years and my opponent is now attempting to keep the seat in the family like an inheritance. Unlike my opponent, I have lived in the district for many years. District 82 is my home, not just a place to further my political career.

Speaking of political careers, I do not intend to have one. This is the first and only time that I will ever run for office. If elected, I will serve four years only and will be able to serve your interests independent of future political considerations. I believe this is the way government was intended to work in this country, rather than the system we have filled with career politicians.

I look forward to hearing about your concerns and what you want from your state representative. I hope to be able to see you in person, answer your questions on this website or feel free to call me anytime at (504) 231-4697. I hope that you will join me in this effort and would appreciate your vote on October 12
